Vapor Cigarettes – Are They Really Harmful?
An electronic cigarette is a miniature electronic device which essentially mimics regular tobacco smoking. It basically consists of a battery, an electrical power source just like a battery or charger, and a humidifier or vaporizer. Instead of smoke, the smoker inhales vap. As such, utilizing an electronic cigarette is generally referred to as “e-smoking”.
The difference between a vapor cigarette and a conventional “sticky” cigarette is the way in which the vapor is inhaled. In a traditional cigarette, as in most other types of tobacco use, smoke is inhaled by way of a Puff Bar burning mechanism. But since an e cigarette releases no smoke, there is no need to breathe smoke. Instead, as is inhaled which carries nicotine, which is the addictive element within tobacco, along with several other toxic substances and carcinogens.
The problem with vapor cigarettes and other types of tobacco use is there are some serious health consequences that may occur from long term use of tobacco products. Not only did it cause cancer but it can also dramatically reduce a person’s sperm fertility and decrease the caliber of their breast milk. The reproductive system can be damaged by prolonged use, as well. This damage can happen to men and women and it is worrisome for ladies who may not yet have their menstrual cycles or know if they will experience their first one.
There is absolutely no doubt that the act of smoking could be highly addictive. It is this highly addictive nature, making vapor cigarettes so much more attractive than other styles of tobacco use. When you vaporize the tobacco, you are essentially eliminating that initial “kick” that cigarettes provide. Subsequently, smoking becomes a far more passive experience, one where your body isn’t as accustomed to acting on its “high” since it would be when you smoked the tobacco.
Vapor cigarettes aren’t necessarily safer than regular cigarettes. In fact, according to the American Cancer Society, they might be even more hazardous than regular cigarettes. They contain higher degrees of tar and carbon monoxide than regular cigarettes, and in addition contain an ingredient called “tar” that’s highly toxic, as well. The American Cancer Society and other health organizations have needed an immediate cessation of all using tobacco, using all available resources to fight this dangerous habit.
The reason why that vapor cigarettes could be so damaging to your wellbeing, though, is you don’t get the nicotine kick that you’ll get from a cigarette. You get exactly the same “high”, only at a much slower pace. Since an “e Cig” lasts no more than a half hour or less, you don’t need to go through the entire normal session of smoking, which lots of people find to be difficult to do.
Another major concern is that there is no tar or other toxins produced having an e Cig. When you smoke a regular cigarette, you are adding lots of chemicals to your system with each puff. Having an electronic cigarette, no such chemicals are released. So although you might not feel any “high” or “stop smoking”, you’re still indirectly adding harmful chemical compounds to your body.
Although the medical community will not recommend using vapor cigarettes, lots of people who use them feel that they’re harmless. Some even say that the lack of taste is a benefit, since you won’t get burned if you’re unable to tell what’s in your mouth. Some individuals, however, do notice a strange burnt taste in their mouth after having tried an e Cig, but these are usually due to the burning tobacco that is present in most vapor cigarettes. However, vapor cigarettes are gaining in popularity, especially since they do not require you to smoke.
